A-Rise Initiative
Investing in Education, Science, Technology and Innovation for a self-reliant and competitive Africa
Peace & Security
Peacebuilding and Security, the African Union’s number one priority since 2013: “Silencing the guns by 2030”
Water & Sanitation
Water is not just a resource: it is the foundation of life, health, food security, energy and peace.
Driven by Unity, Work and Progress
Burundi thrives at the vibrant crossroads of the African Great Lakes and Southeast Africa, a landlocked jewel nestled within the breathtaking heights of the Great Rift Valley. Home to a spirited population of over 14 million, the nation is embraced by Rwanda to the north, Tanzania to the east, and the expansive Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west. Its southwestern edge is defined by the majestic, shimmering waters of Lake Tanganyika. This dynamic nation balances its heritage and future between two rhythmic hubs: Gitega, the historic political capital, and the bustling lakeside economic heart of Bujumbura.
